Rhythmic Ground

Developed from a National Lottery funded series of online workshops for 2022, Rhythmic Ground is a workshop in rhythm and movement that takes its starting point from the familiar song of the wood pigeon.

Rhythmic Ground offers an empowering participative experience through rhythm and movement which steps towards a reclamation of our shared indigeneity in a simple, immersive and enjoyable way.  The session will support physical and mental well-being, community connection and belonging.

The workshop will include warm up activities, time spent outside listening to the natural soundscapes, creative exercises in rhythm and movement drawn from the rhythm of the wood pigeon, creative drawing/writing, and discussion about indigeneity and how it feels to collectively connect with the rhythms of this land.

Open to ages 8 and above

Suitable for 6 - 25 participants,

1 – 2 hours in duration.

2 workshop leaders & 1 supporting musician.
