Lead Creative Practitioner

When Allan was 21 he went on a life changing journey to Guinea, sparking a lifelong passion for rhythms and percussion.  He later gained a 1st honours degree in Ethnomusicology from the School of Oriental and African studies, University of London.

After learning drum kit as a child, Allan became interested in group drumming and has experience in many styles and traditions including West African Djembe, Talking drum, Shona Mbira, Afro-Cuban and Samba percussion.

A multi instrumentalist, Allan is equally at home writing songs and performing as he is in devising new ways for creating a hands-on musical experience for people of all ages and backgrounds.

More recently, Allans focus has been on drumming for mental health and well-being.
